Technology solutions giant HP Malaysia has unveiled the world's first 27-inch all-in-one workstation - HP Z1 - as well as other additions to the company's Z series workstation portfolio.
The HP Z1, available in Malaysia from April 2012, allows users to swap out parts and make upgrades without any tools, said HP vice president and general manager, commercial solutions business unit, Jim Zafarana, earlier during HP's Workstations Solution World event in Asia Pacific late March. Other additions to the Z workstations portfolio include Z820, Z620 and Z420.
"As the workstation industry leader, HP continues to invest in technology that allows our customers to push the limits of innovation," said Zafarana. "Our investments in R&D and technology have led to workstations that meet and exceed the needs of the world's most demanding customers."
He said the HP Z1 was the world's first 27" all-in-one workstation, powered by Intel Xeon processors, NVIDIA Quadro graphics, with support for more than one billion colours, and a display designed for computer-aided design (CAD), digital media and entertainment professionals. "The revolutionary HP Z1 sets a new industry standard for workstation design, performance and serviceability."
"With its game-changing design and an experience that optimises visual and computing performance, the HP Z1 will help attract new customers and expand our market leadership," he said, adding that the other models HP Z820, Z620 and Z420 have new multicore updates and increased expandability.
"The new HP Z Workstations include 90 percent efficient power supplies - reducing both overall energy usage and the amount of waste heat released," said Zafarana. "The HP Z line is registered EPEAT Gold and offers ENERGY STAR qualified configurations."
